ABORTION, MISCARRIAGE, AND STILLBIRTH

Approximately 260,000 abortions are per-formed annually in South Africa. The num-ber of individuals, families and families affected by this is overwhelming. One of the saddest conversations in counselling is when an elderly lady tells about the baby or babies she lost years ago, whether through abortion, miscarriage or stillbirth, and the overwhelming pain and longing over the years. Usually there had been no farewell and no closure while the unprocessed grieving process was a part of her life throughout. The contents of this book provide practical guidelines for the pastoral guidance of such mothers (as well as the fathers of such lost babies) towards healing and freedom through the facilitation of the Holy Spirit (courier cost: R120).
